Photographer’s Note
From today´s trip. The first written records attesting to the existence of Frýdlant Castle date from 1278. During the Thirty Years' War, Frýdlant was the property of Albrecht of Waldstein/ Wallenstein (who named his vast duchy after it). When Waldstein died, the Gallas family acquired Frýdlant. It later passed on to the Clam-Gallas family, in whose hands it was to remain until 1945.
