Frederiksborg Palace in Hillerød, Denmark was built as a royal residence for King Christian IV. It is the largest Renaissance palace in Scandinavia. The palace is located on three small islands in the middle of Palace Lake, (Danish, Slotsø), and is adjoined by a large, baroque formal garden. The oldest parts of the palace date back to 1560, and were built by King Frederick II, after whom the palace is named. Most of the current palace, however, was built from 1602 to 1620 by Christian IV using Dutch architects, Hans and Lorents van Steenwinckel, and follows the Dutch style favoured by Christian IV for his new buildings in Copenhagen. After Christian IV's death in 1648, the palace was used mainly for ceremonial events, primarily the anointing and crowning of the Absolute Monarchs in the palace church. Since 1693 the church has also been used as Knight's Chapel for the Order of the Elephant and the Order of the Dannebrog. The palace was also used to house the royal family's art collection; as a result, it came to be regarded as a national monument.

This I think is the best POV to introduce this fantastic palace; some details will follow in my upcoming posts.

Using the arch to frame the palace was a great idea. It gives depth and also shortens the cloudless sky. The colours are fabulous and the POV including the whole building is very nice. Well done.
Antonio

Hi Alexander.

A nice "natural" frame in the picture. It's great how you caught completely the palace.

I'll be waiting your next posts of course...

Privet Alexander,
Lovely castle where the red brick color tells about a city of Northern Europe, the framing using the arch is well seen.
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

Hallo Alexander,
Mooi hoe je die boog in de foto hebt weten te verwerken, geeft een mooi kader aan het imposante gebouw dat tevens mooi belicht is en het rood en blauw mooi contrastrijk tegenover elkaar staan....mooie foto.
Fijne dag, Henk

Good use of the arch to frame the building, which looks to be very attractive architecture. The light is good and even from this distance you have captured some fine architectural details. Well done

Hi Alexander

Marvellous use of the fg arch to frame the distant scene. Good colour, sharpness, & lighting. I like the symmetry between the 2 wings of the ornate old building. Tfs!

A classic framing Alexander. And the good thing is that it works. I am liking to see your walking through Copenhagen. I didn't find the city that special but your pictures are showing me all the sights I remember so well. Very clever shot I have to admit.

Hi Alexander!
This arch is a wonderful framing for this fantastic building.Great POV and good sharpness overall with many fine details at this wonderful architecture.

Alexander,
not knowing this place I have to admit that this composition is really breathtaking and a wonderful introduction and excitment to see what comes next of this place. The framing with the arch in the foreground is fantastic. It seems to me that you had some difficulties with the light management, especially at the right side and I wonder if a ND grad filter woouldn't have helped to temper the partial overexposure in that area.
Regards, Peter

Hi Alexander,
Perfect frame with this arch to take this Palace, original photo, well seen and made. Good sharpness to see many details of this fine architecture.
