[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
Here is an Austin (the car) that has been put out to pasture. I imagine it feeling very left out by the horses it shares its pasture with, and also left out by its owners.

On a more serious note, I took this picture and two others because I really liked the scene. I've been looking back at it periodically for a week now, and I'm still not happy with my final best effort to get it right. Here I've enhanced the color, cropped it, made it B&W and then sharpened it. I'm posting the original to the WS, so if anyone thinks they can do a better job, PLEASE try.

Hello Kate.
I've seen the first WS (very nice, colorful) and I've added a second one, where the Austin is vanished.
I hope you like it..
Kind regards.
Bobo.

Hello Kate,

You have already performed a nice work of translation in B&W. To my mind, this B&W version is much better and interesting than the color one.
The vertical framing is also well adapted with a good inclusion of the car to drive the look to the horses. The real question is why you have only done a horizontal framing at shooting and not directly this one? You have lost a large part
of possibility of large size printing with this big crop.

Yves.

Kate

I'm glad that you posted the original image along with this in a workshop. Its interesting to see the work that you have done and the result is a much improved shot.

B&W is very effective here. Also the tighter crop and the idea of showing only half of the car is very good.

You have a good composition with the angle of the car leading the eye to the horses.

Very good work.

Finlay
