Photographer's Note
Situated in the middle of Great Belt between Fyn and Sjælland (Sealand) has Sprogø always played a special role.
For centuries was it’s a place so seek shelter in bad weather on the sea journey – Normally was it only the keeper of the lighthouse who lived here for a longer period, but back in the 1709-10 under the plague (the dark death) was here a quarantine station for people who could have gotten the disease. (The house can still be seen)
From 1923 to 1961 was here a home (or prison) for 22 young women, who couldn’t behave (they was of “easy virtue” and was put here to learn better manners).
In the 1990ies was Sprogø made part of the bridge / tunnel connection between Fyn and Sjælland – There was also plans of making a parking place here as well, and a lot of people was looking forward for a hotdog at this fine island. But the area instead declared protected zone for the birdlife.
The half marathon at the 28th of May was the first chance for a lot people, including myself to set foot here.

Great capture from an angle not often seen ;-)
Good sharpness and POV, nice colours and I like how the bridge disappears in the haze.

Hej Jeppe,
Fantastisk billede af øen foran broen (som er blevet billigere, læste jeg idag i Politiken Weekly ;-)).
Kompositionen, synes jeg, er meget god, godt gjort! :-D
Bedste hilsner og god weekend!

I like the angle as it shows the monumental size of this bridge. The sailboats help show the size of it.
I like how the bridge just fades away in the far end. And the lighthouse is so cool.

I like your perspective on the bridge. Excellent details front to back, and balance in the composition.

Hi Jeppe. Well you made excellent use of the rare opportunity to take this great shot. Everything is excellent about this pic. The only bad downside is that the weather wasn't any clearer. Still a beautiful bridge shot Jeppe!

Presumably thay had to abandon the prison at the start of the '60s for fear of overcrowding. Quite a horrific thought all the same, and I'd always thought Denmark such a libera place.
I recognise that bridge, in the background of the marathon shot. Nice to see a full view of it here.

Hi Jeppe
I like the flattened & compressed perspective, from use of a zoom lens. Superb sharpness, color, & pov. Well done!

Hi Jeppe, A photo with an excellent composition. The bridge leads us from the foreground to the mist faded background. It is beautiful to have the contrast of the grass, buildings, blue sky, and blue water. It is a bonus to have the lighthouse captured together with the bridge. Well done.

Another fine result for which participating in the run was worth, Jeppe. Very nice composing with the small island in the foreground, and the beautiful bridge spanning towards the hazy background. Nice colors, too.

Hej Jeppe...
Tak for et dejligt billede af Sprogø... Det vækker sandelig minder hos mig da jeg boede 3 dage i Fyrmester-boligen for snart 6 år tilbage...
Din kommentar til billedet er rigtig god og informativ...
Tak for synet...Ina...

Hello Jeppe. A fascinating POV. The bridge looks so graceful, almost human - all dressed up. The balance and DOF in the scene is outstanding. The eye follows to the end of the bridge and wants to explore further. Very well captured and presented. Regards.

Hej Jeppe
Jeg er helt vild med det billede. Det er superflot.
Har altid været meget betaget af den store bro.
Der er noget helt specielt ved at køre, så langt
henover vandet, og så er broen omkring 7 km lang.
Hilsen Mette

This great bridge is impressive, due to the excellent framing.
I like this view and especialy the light on the Island in opposition to this beautiful bridge.
A good one

Hej Jeppe,
Very nice and wide composition with that island here and the brigde in the background. Not very sharp, but I understood a was a bit foggy, and than there isn't much one can do, so I try to look "through" it. Thanks for the good note.

Hi Jeppe. Very beautiful shot. I like the depth this shows and the bridge going off in the distance. Nice colours of the calming feel of the water matching the shade of blue of the bridge. A very nice composition. Thanks.

This is certainly a beautiful bridge, one of my favorites. I would love to see it in person one day. This point of view gives the arching of the cables and the height of the towers a beautiful and elegant look. The concrete is made to look so light. And your point of view also captures a neat view of it shooting out from Sprogø and into the distance. And the boats add a nice tranquil atmosphere to the overall scene. I think it could be rotated slightly. It's not so much the towers but the little bit of horizon that I can see is slightly off. Well done Jeppe.

Hi Jeppe - very nice view of this bridge, and interesting story. I would like to drive over it one day, perhaps next summer.

I do remember when we went through this bridge back in December, having the top of its stands covered by the clouds. This POV makes it look small, but one have to cross it to perceive its true size.
Excellent position of the bridge to the right and the island with its lighthouse to the left. And excellent use of a very shiny day. The image makes me miss Denmark.
Do you know how far away, from this position, is Sjælland, the tip of the island in this picture?
Very good story also.

Hej, Jeppe.
Following your critic at http://www.trekearth.com/gallery/Europe/Denmark/photo248948.htm I "landed" here. This picture gives me definately the idea of how the whole looks like. To be honest, I can hardly remember the area, the shot I took was more to remind me of it.
Your picture is very clear and well sharpened despite the not so sunny day. I like that we can see the whole bridge, which has a very interesting shape. Boats in the sea give the sense of movement and life.
Thanks for sharing it.
