Summer in Denmark Photo

Photographer’s Note

This is summer in Denmark to me. Denmark is an agricultural country surrounded by a lot of water. Various types of grain are the main crop along with rape seed (canola) and sugar beets. It is still quite common to find poppies growing in fields of grain, although with the use of conventional, chemical based agriculture poppies are becoming much less common since they are considered weeds. Supposedly one can tell the organic fields from the conventional fields by the amount wild flowers growing in them. This field is probably a conventional field, if that reasoning is correct.

Lovely capture, the red spots add value to this wonderfully composed image, well choosen point of view in order to compose it and good colour defintion, Thanks for your note...I suppose your summer is far from 39 degrees in Madrid!!!

Good use of verticle framing.
Great POV. Basic mix of colours is fabulous.
Interesting note highlighting the splash of poppies
in this field. Tyre tracks add so much character :))

Hi Kate,
you really have collected a very representative and fine gallery of impressions of this wonderful island! I think that this one is the most beautiful. Perfect harmony of colors, excellent management of the light and a very well working POV on this typical scene. And a nice note. Bravo!

Hello Kate,
when reading your Note the words "chemical based agriculture poppies" sounded ... well... kind of strange! but this is our contemporary reality..
In any case, I like this simple view with two "patsh" in the field. Very good composition, pleasant view. And these "chemical" poppies surely enliven the whole scene :)
