Hi Dorte. I hope that the drops are not tears. I think that the sun brightening the landscape is a good omen for your son, a message that everything will be fine. It is a long way to Australia, but the heart does not travel by plane. Your photo is very evocative. Beautiful light. Regards from Australia. Klaudio.

Hallo Dorte!
Greetings from Germany!
Frank

Hello Dorte,
very well captured great shot here. I think that this fantastic filtering light among the dark clouds is a positive sign and Australia is a bit far, but excellent place for living. At least, when you want, you can be there in 24 hours.
Tfs with us this nice pic and your emotions!
Best wishes.
Attila

Hi Dorte,
Every one must find is own way...
To illustrate such a strange mood, I offer you this poem

Farewell

FAREWELL, and when forth
I through the Golden Gates to Golden Isles
Steer without smiling, through the sea of smiles,
Isle upon isle, in the seas of the south,
Isle upon island, sea upon sea,
Why should I sail, why should the breeze?
I have been young, and I have counted friends.
A hopeless sail I spread, too late, too late.
Why should I from isle to isle
Sail, a hopeless sailor?

Robert Louis Stevenson

It can not be so good for the mother to send her son to the other side of the world - permanently..
So I guess this photo in a blend of light and dark shades is a good choice for the mood then.
For sure the stray light of sun is very special in this compo - a fine work Dorte (I think I had cropped a little bit in the lower part - on the other hand you 'lock' the line of the road in the lower left corner which is good - so maybe not :-)

Hi Dorte,
This was a sad day for you however it is the beginning of a whole new life for you son. My son left for 5 weeks to go to Italy on holiday, I felt much the same yesterday. The sky looks very dismal indeed which no doubt suited your mood. I love the way you have captured the sun shining through on the sweet cottage. Thank you for sharing and take care.
Cheers,
Debbie

Hi Dorte,
The light and view are beautiful. I was just a bit bothered by the rain drop on the glass but after reading your note I see it only adds to the mood... I also feel that the light is a good sign for the future.
Blanka

One of your best ever shots, Dorte. The light falling on the houses and frosty grass is marvellous. A beautiful sky over this already wintry landscape. I hope your son will enjoy life in Perth. My own brother and his family live there too, and won't ever come back to Melbourne.
It is always hard to say goodbye, especially when the distance seems so immense. Perhaps you will think of it as an opportunity for yourself - now, you will have to visit your son!
Anyway, thanks for this wonderful image which appeared to you on the road home.
Regards,
Andrew

Hi Dorte,
the colors in this are beyond wonderful! Just incredible! Love all the mood that reflect exactly what you wrote in you note. Just amazing moment in time!
I've my son in the USA too, so I understand...
Love, Stella
