[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
Denmark is a nation of islands and peninsulas, making ferries a common transport option. Here are a mother and child waiting for the ferry from Femø to come into port at Kragenæs. The Ferry to the small island of Femø runs about every two hours and takes 50 minutes. Unfortunately this long ride has made the island unattractive to year round residents, especially those with children. According to the resident we spoke to, there are only two families with children who permanently reside on the island. A majority of the 150 residents are retirees. On the other hand, Femø makes a wonderful vacation destination, because it is remote and beautiful.

On a technical note, if anyone has any ideas of how to fix this photo, I would love suggestions. I'm not happy with the color and I had to do serious cropping to cut out a car and storage sheds at the dock. This was the best cut I came up with .

Hi Kate,
You have captured a very nice moment of a couple of habitants of Denmark. I think colours are ok.. the main problem is that there are many disturbing objects on main plane to capture the viewer eyes. I'm not an expert with Photoshop or other edition software. I think that too much Postprocessing work may eliminate the spontaneity of the picture, but I think you can crop it a little from the left to let the "trailer" of the bottom left corner out of the picture. May be you could use the "clone tool" to erase the other trailer of the center...I wish this could help you.
Greetings
Picardo
P.S.: Thank for your critiques in my gallery
