Photographer’s Note

Greenland west coast, Quervain bay, Eqip Sermia glacier : 69°49'N, 50°15'W

The length of this front approximates 4.5 km and its height amounts to 50 m.
The ice is always moving and working - from time to time, we hear some loud, sharp and muffled noises.
The ground, where we stood up here at a distance of 5 km, could shake briefly. That was very impressive.

Eqip Sermia glacier is an enlargement of the huge central ice cap.
