Photographer’s Note

Hammeren rises 82 metres above the Baltic Sea and is separated from the rest of the island by a rift valley with Hammerso Lake at the bottom. This is a lovely place for taking photos. Sheep and goats graze the area as part of efforts to recreate the predominant heath landscape and open up the view to Hammershus - Northern Europe's biggest castle ruin. Bornholm views are dominated by the beautiful warm colours which make this place real paradise for painters.
