A windmill with a vertical axes ahd capacity of 3 kW was installed on top of the 25-metres-high Ööbikuorg viewing tower (2006). The generated electricity is transferred to the Ööbikuorg centre. One can follow the parameters of the windmill in real time on the website of the energy park.
In contrast to wind parks, which are connected to public energy networks, the windmill with vertical axes has been developed and designed as an independent energy device. The automatic wind rotor is primarily used in case when the public energy network does not cover the necessary energy output. The advantage of the wind generator with horizontal rotation is reliability and automatic switching at 2 m/s. The wind rotor can also be used for water pump, mill or for production of thermal energy.

Hello
Is is a very interesting post as i never thought about that way to capt wind energy. And then, it is quite beautifull. The car next to it gives a good idea of dimensions. Good note also.
