[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
Tallinn is the capital and largest city in Estonia. It lies on the northern coast of Estonia on the Gulf of Finland. Durign the Second World War, on 15 September 1939 Polish Navy ship ORP Orzel (it means "Eagle" in Polish) arrived to Tallinna as a neutral port to offload sick captain. At the insistence of Germany, the Estonian authorities interned the crew, confiscated the maps and started to dismantle the armament on 17/18 September 1939. The crew decided to escape with their boat and make journey to England. On 18 September 1939 ORP Orzel escaped to Great Britain. The Orze³ incident was used by the Soviet Union to justify the annexation of Estonia in 1940.
