The Ambassador's Door
 |
|
| [Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe |
A number of countries have chosen to put their embassies to Estonia in the old town section of Tallinn, some of them in lovely old buildings. I spotted some of them while walking around the old town, including the residence of the Italian ambassador (which was probably next to the embassy, but I didn't take note of it). I don't know how old the residence is, but it has does have this lovely front door carving.
Technical: In RAW, raise the temp slightly, along with clarity, fill, and vibrance. In CS3, I cropped to fix the edges and the tilt, then used Levels to burnish the wood a bit. Finished with High Pass sharpening. |

Hello Daniel
I like this kind of compositions. You've found a great detail and the way you've framed it is very well seen to let us admire the texture of the door.
The chiseled wood is superb, and we can guess the meticulous work that it has been done.
Beautiful natural colors, and fine sharpness.
Good work. If you don't mind, I'd like to add your picture to my theme Open your eyes, to invite each of us to look for such beautiful details.
Hello Daniel,
This beautiful door carving had been captured real well with perfect exposure and focus!
very sharp with good lighting also in perfect details
well done and many thanks for the notes
best regards
Tony
Very good catch of the carved detail in the door. The light is catching the details beautifully. Nicely framed and cropped.
Well done
Kath
