Alexander Nevsky Cathedral is Tallinn's largest and grandest cupola cathedral.
The Orthodox church was built on Toompea Hill in 1900, when Estonia was part of the Russian tsarist empire.
The architect of the church was Mikhail Preobrazhenski from St. Petersburg.
The church's name, Alexander Yaroslavitz Nevsky, is to dedicate it to to the Prince of Novgorod,
Alexander Yaroslavitz Nevsky.
The church's belltowers hold Tallinn's largest church bell, weighing 15 tonnes. |

Wonderful detail and sharpness on this beautiful architecture. Colors and light perfectly balanced. The scatter cloud in the blue sky add more interest to the image.

A cathedral which I also had the opportunity to see, but a long time ago, in 1991, and at that time both the roof and the painting were different. A well chosen down to top point of view.
