Over the Market Square and Harbour of Helsinki, high on the rocks of Katajanokka Island, stand Cathedral of Repose of the Virgin (Uspensky), built in year 1868 by architect Gornostayev.
It's the biggest Russian Orthodox church outside of Russia.
It's interiors are covered in frescoes.

What a contrast - this magnificent church towering all these functional buildings. A really intriguing scenery - and photo as well! Your chosen point of view and the composition here really are outstanding ...

Hi Uhu,

Did you take this picture staying on the upper deck of Silja Line? Excellent point of view. I would increase saturation a little to get richer colors, but anyway this shot is perfect.
