Morning mist on a pond Photo

Photographer’s Note

Early september morning by a small pond in a swamp called Lapinsuo South-East Finland. September nights can be already quite cold at these latitudes and after a cold night temperature of water can be much higher than air and that often causes beautiful fog effects in calm, windless mornings. Place itself is nothing special - there are several thousands of this kind of little ponds or small lakes in Finland.

Very beautiful landscape, beautiful colors and reflections are wonderful. Very beautiful composition with the morning fog, which gives a nice effect.

Hi Pekka,
This is a nice and quiet scene.
Very sharp reflections in the still water and the fog adds to that. Well composed with the diagonl grass in front and the row of trees with nice clouds above.

Lovely shot, Pekka. The reflection is truly great and the line of mist in the middle is wonderful. I also like the sky, which is an intresting combination of blue and threatening dark. Four seasons in 1/60 seconds...
