Photographer’s Note

Double deck InterCity2 train from Jyväskylä to Helsinki approaching Hämeenlinna.

Swiss built class Sr2 engine belongs to Lok 2000 family which was the last major product of Schweizerische Lokomotiv- und Maschinenfabrik before the locomotive business was sold to Adtranz and finally to Bombardier group. Double deck cars are built by Transtech in Finland.

Hi Kari, An other excellent train shot. Again in a curve! The same? I quite like the reflections in the side of the cars.

Hi Kari, I can see the tracks veering off to the rioght but feel like this train is going to run me down! Wow you;re close here, so it's a very good POC and your shutter speed has been chosen to give a wonderfully sharp image. Nice reflections along the body of the train too. TFs, Lisa.

Hello Kari.
The train that points its nose toward the target is the result of a good choice of composition.
The shot is dynamic and high sharpened.

Hi Kari.
We might call this a 'classical' train shot, but it is superbly done. Your position was well chosen and the timing was just right. The super-fast shutter did a great job of 'freezing' the movement, and you've still got good DOF. I love the colours and incredible sharpness, the really dynamic effect of the curve in the tracks and the train, plus the headlights and the glinting reflections on the side. Great work.

Hello Kari,
I can see that you have liking for trains. This composition with the train close up creates a strong visual impact. I like the soft reflection on the side of the train.
