Pendolino train (Finnish class name Sm3) approaching Tampere at Amuri.

Pendolino is an Italian family of tilting trains. It was developed and manufactured by Fiat Ferroviaria, which was taken over by Alstom in 2002. VR (Finnish state railways) has 18 of these trains built in 1995 - 2006.

I like the composition and the note you wrote...yes, by now it is more a "French" connection, even if I guess they still make part of it in Savigliano (near Turin).

Hi Kari.
I was intrigued by your title, and thought there must be a Finland-Italy train service! Hardly likely. Having read your note, I now remember travelling on a Pendolino train in the Czech Republic - I was told that they were bought second-hand from the Italian Railways. Anyway, it's another good train shot with a nice curving track and sharp exposure. I particularly like the fact that there are cars coming around the bend in the road, in parallel with the train.

Kari,
This is a nicely composed scene with the curving rails leading the eye into the shot. The low light and dusting of snow add to the cold mood of the shot. The angle of the shot is great giving us a nice view of the train.
