Photographer's Note
The shadows made by the colums of Helsinki's town hall created an interesting contrast. I actually tried to oversharpen it a bit to bring out the "texture" of the columns.

Hi Philipp,
Very nice composition and graphism. You bring out the texture of the columns very well. Nice B&W too.

Philip
Your title says it all. Well done - I particularly like the selection of the column in the foregrounmd with the "cracks".
Thanks for the comments on my two chairs capture. Much appreciated.
Looking forward to many more of your great postings in 2007.

Hello Philipp,
A very good b7w image making good use of the perspective of the receding columns and the light and shadow plays. Excellent tones and textures.

Hi Philipp,
Good point of view presenting us with various geometric forms that really dominate this scene. Interesting detail of the cracks in the column reminding us how old this building is. Also good idea to make it B&W.

Hey this is well seen, good repeating element, the choice for B&W is also fine, just as the contrasts.
I think the sharpening is appropriate, it doesn't hurt to sharpen up these thing, atleast that's what I think of it.
Nicely composed. Congrats
Happy 2007.

Hi Philipp,
nice idea to put this picture into B/W, it increases the game between shadow and light. The perspective is also very good. That's a very nice post !
Congratulations.
Have a nice evening.
