Thats a very nice composition with such a snowy and forlorn look. The way its been crafted is superb. I love the tone, texture and hues of the snow. its well balanced.

Luminous one that gives a good feeling of winter activities, maybe a bit misleading as well since I could feel like it's warm due to the sun, nice contrasting colors on the snow.

Hi Kari,
I see my own father doing this 40 years ago. Picking a hole in the ice and go fishing. My father died a long time ago but these images can't be seen anymore here. I saw a few days ago people fishing along the road with temperatures far above zero.
I like your image, brings back some nice memories...thank you.

Even if it wasn't apparent from the snow and the occupation, the pose of the fisherman screams COLD as he hunches up in his duvet coat. I assume the box strapped to his leg has some scientific purpose to do with the fishing? Very interesting post.

It is a very curious hobby, because patience, silence and little great movement is necessary to be able to go fishing in this frozen lake, something more difficult bearing in mind the cold in the environment.
Good composition catching this concentration of the fisherman, in an image with good management of the light and nice colors and shades.

Ice fishing is a popular activity, and it can be pleasant later in winter but I stay away on cold and windy days...

Hi Kari,this sport is also very popular in the prairies of Canada,where the lakes freeze over for a long period of time
I wonder how long he can stay out in the open, it must be pretty cold,good look at the auger for drilling his fishing hole.those colours, blue, red & white sure add vibrance to an image.
