Hello Kari,
Another fine picture in the same style as yesterday. Very graphic indeed, with just the tiniest spots of colour. The patterns go nicely arounf the picture.

I love this white scenes. And if it was I, I would edit this to get a real white (or close to it). But that's a personal preference. I really like your simple, minimalistic composition. But the curvilinear "draws" in the lake surface are what makes this picture so special. And the little lilliputians too! Very good Kari!

What a distances! Western Finland... We can only dream about this kind of weather here. We have the Eleven-cities-tour here in the North of the Netherlands. But the last time there was enough ice for this skate even has been 1997....

Hi Kari,

exceptional capture and landscape. Not seen in every day life, at least not in our corner of the world. Love the composition of three lines coming from lower right end each in different direction, full of life going along those paths. Big compliments.

Great shot Kari. All Dutch skaters are waiting for these circumstances but it seems that also this year they have to find there luck on the 400 meter tracks which are spreaded all over the country.
Great perspective here from a bird view eye, the waves over the track is wonderful...a great shot, i like it a lot.

this is aryaratna.first of all thanx for critiquing a photograph of mine which i had uploaded with great expectations but it turned out be a bore for most of my pals on TE.but i think u had understood the picture well.peole had told me that the shot lacked subject and pov.it was capable of only being a background of middel school environmental science projects.but i see people like you also take such photographs like mine.this shot is similarly fantastic.is it a panorama?

Hello Kari! This is the one I wanted to comment in your gallery but somehow I "lost" it on the way :)))) Nice mood and how the ice track eats its way through the white. Some years ago our lakes were frozen and I put my foot on the lake which I find is always a strange feeling but after a while you get more brave and start to feel safe. No ice skating this year as it seems in Switzerland (lowlands). It is by far too warm for January and you never know what to wear. Excellent work indeed ... I just love it. This is a very simple composition but very well captured. the white is pure, the curves of the road lead the view from one side to the other of the frame, and the people gives a good sense of the immensity of this place. Great POV!
Good work.. do you wear gloves when shooting under this condition?
