Hi Kari. I love to see photos of snow and ice but I am a warm climate person and summer is my favorite season. Well captured, I love the colours in the dry grasses in the FG. Nice work and thanks for sharing.

What a wonderful corner, Kari! I love your winter version but I can also feel some spring in the air as there seems to be a little bit of water in the ice coming through but maybe I just followed your text about spring and there is nothing but ice. Nice the little house peaking through and I guess soon enough the leaves will hide it. My father-in-law spent 20 summers (on his own) in this area renting a little hut with no light and he was painting and fishing the whole summer through ... he is pretty wild, I know, but a wonderful painter and a great architect. I guess I will show him this and I hope he draws me a Finland winter version (if I behave ...). Enjoy your Monday ... Barbara.

thanks for adding this one up and completing somewhat my request. The difference is really striking. The composition with the yellow in the front and the dark trees standing up in the foreground is very good.
Can I have another request? :-)
Choose a POV and have the same shot during the four seasons and present it as a single post in about 1 year. ;-)

Kari,
Captures the essence of spring really, these grasses, almost appear to colonise the snow. And habitation, a little island of warmth.

I like the soft colours in this, Kari - it has a real winter feel to it. I think it could have done with a little more contrast though. I tried a workshop to see how much additional contrast it would take. The difference is subtle but I think it improves it. Cheers . . . David
