Hannusjärvi lake is the only mainland lake in south Espoo locating in Kaitaa district. It is about 500 m long and 250 m wide. The maximum depth is 2.5 m and average depth 1.5 m. It is located within Hannusjärvi recreational area, however closely attached to built areas and roads. The closest houses are detached houses, and some of those right at the lake front are old summer cottages. A little further south-east is the Iivisniemi apartment building area. On the mostly uninhabited north side lies a small forest area, bounded by the motorway in north. It consists a mosaic of rocks, swamps, dry peaty forest and rockery lush groves. It is a gem of its kind in the southern Espoo. It has been threatened by building plans, but according to the present town plans the forest and indirectly the lake will be preserved to the future generations.

Hallo Lasse!
Wonderful! The light here somehow is autumn light - one feels it. This crimpy water surface creates a nice pattern. I would like to sit there now - however with sunshine!

I must have missed your last pictures (due to bad connection to TE) but this is really a gem. Seems like wilderness but still so close to habitation. Are there any fish in the lake?
