Hi Hakan,

Never been there, just as Alaska, but if this is the standard than it should be on my list. The mix of colours in the foliage is truly wonderful. But also on the composition side, the foreground and the bend in the river is so well thought composed, you did a great job here.

And who needs a blue sky when you have such a sky...i don't. Full hard sunlight would only disturb those wonderful mix of green and yellow colours. That white pole is maybe disturbing the serenity and the innicent landscape, so removing it would be an option, although i also can live with leaving it.
Great photo...i like it a lot.

that's a charmer! love the color palette and the subtle light... i completely agree with henk: no need for full-blown sunlight here; it would just destroy the mood (and it wouldn't be finland-like anyway...). excellent work!

ps. not so sure about reds and oranges in two weeks; i figure, finland must be similar to latvia as far as the fall palette is concerned, and that's mostly yellow...

Hi Hakan,

there is sth so beautiful in this image. I do not what but it has such a wonderful atmosphere...so calm. Maybe it is the light...its different from ours...silver-like, sharp but not bright. With this early fall scenery makes wonders and with perfectly still pond infront...a perfect glass, it creates magnificent impression from Finland.

Hyvää huomentaa Hakan,
Wow you've been travelling far, I share with you that I have visited this region also, Inari being the northermost point I have ever reached, and it was just as cloudy as on 08.09, still you got a shy ray of light passing through and this boosted a bit this landscape and the reflection. Looks very still, preparing for a looooong winter already.

It seems that autumn colours are (were?) at their best up there. Quite vibrant and contrasty picture even with grey sky. Reflections look good too.

long time I don't check your gallery :( You know I was working on a photo last night and it's similar to this one. The fact is that the light you get here was exactly what I was looking for. The result I got is far from this one. Very beautiful land and great composition, superb details!

I am really impressed by the beauty of the colours,but also by the beauty of the reflection,this is truly wonderful!The POV is great with the curve of this black river separating this colourful landscape in 2 parts,making a superb contrast!The sharpness is so excellent that we can feel the texture of the grasses!A great capture!

nor i kwow if this pond is one of 187,000+ lakes in Finland,but i can say that is a splendid landscape view with the Autumn light.I like the reflections on the calm surface place of the little pond as the greenery that surround it.Well done.

merveilleux pays que la Finlande, comme le sont d'ailleurs les pays nordiques en général.
J'aime beaucoup les lumières ici, au sol, elle donnent l'ambiance sous ce ciel plus sombre. La photo a été prise au meilleur moment.

Through the quiet moment without wind get we a wonderful reflection in the lake.
Composition and presentation are superb.
Around the lake see we lovely autumn colours in the trees.
I find the dark gray sky excellent suitable to the picture as contrast.

Only now I found your Zenfolio...Pretty impressive.
Here it is the landscape that reminds me of "Northern Exposure" TV show. Gorgeous bright colors, which is a surprise considering the grey sky. The perfect reflection is the big attraction but it's the colors surrounding it that make it that way.
