Sleepy midday feeling at the border town of Sarreguemines. Large station and amount of tracks suggest that this line has seen more busy days.

As a curiosity, Sarreguemines is also an end station of an international tram line. Trams of Saarbahn run like normal trams in the German city of Saarbrücken, but continue out of the city on normal railway tracks to Sarreguemines on the French side of the border. (Yes, that's what brought me here in the first place.)

This is very nice and very interesting. I love the old building!!! Fantastic pov, colors, sharpness, and the sky looks really great! TFS

Verry interesting note and image. Good POV of the station plan.

Kari,
Your composition is great here using the tracks to lead the eye through the photo. The angle of the shot is very good showing nice depth and detail. The architecture of the train station is nice and you have presented it nicely. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and detail.
TFS,
Asa

Hello Kari,
You can smell the dust that has settled here. There is a good use of the available light and the image is well composed. By the way, did you visit the railway station of Avricourt? Built by the Gemans after the German French war 1870/71 in neo-romantic style. The last train stopped here some 40 years ago. Rather interesting.

Belle gare superbe angle de prise de vue.
Good shot and beautiful posting. Super Ray Nault.

Hi Kari,
Perhaps my mind is focused these days on my old German pictures, but when I saw this photo it reminded me some train stations I saw in East Germany some years ago. Afterwards I read your note (and the location): Sarreguemines, former German Saargemünd. So, I wonder if this train station was build in those years when this was a German town (before 1918).
I like your POV here, certainly from a bridge, with the whole view of station and tracks. Interestingly, the rather modern-looking trains (or trams) seem out of place, anachronous in this old-looking station.
It may be a simple shot, but I like very much this picture, its old time mood, mixed with new trains.
Regards,
F.

Jolies couleurs, bonne netteté, bien vu, bien pris.
Amitiés Thomas
