Photographer’s Note

en début de matinée, petite séance photo de Montgenost avant d'aller travailler, d'un point de vue repéré la veille...
j'étais en train de prendre des clichés en vue d'un pano puis cet hélicoptère est arrivé, du coup je ne mets la vue plus large que dans le WS...
vous pouvez voir aussi une enjambeuse qui passe dans les vignes...
l'hélicoptère était là pour je ne sais quel traitement pour les vignes, il s'est approché de plus en plus (voir WS) et s'est posé à 20 mètres de moi pour rejoindre un camion citerne qui venais d'arriver sur le bord de la route...
au moment où je m'apprête à rejoindre ma voiture pour voir l'heure (histoire de ne pas me mettre en retard) un agriculteur s'approche de moi pour me demander de prendre le décollage en vidéo (afin de le diffuser sur internet pour illustrer son site je suppose, affaire à suivre)...
au premier plan contrairement aux apparences, c'est censé être un champs de blé !

une bien jolie photo avec tous ces coquelicots au premier plan.J'aime beaucoup le mur de pierres envahi par les fleurs,et l'église du village niché dans la verdure a l'air bien jolie.La netteté est extraordinaire.Une belle composition.

A good lesson in how you make the image sound, you barley see the flying vehicle and the you put helicopter on the title and suddenly we all see it and with a bit of imagination culd hear it. The one out in the field looks like a harvester but im not sure. very nice with the poppy in the foreground.

Nice shot, with the flowers in the field and the buildings in behind, it really looks idyllic. The helicopter is a bonus, because I didn't notice it until I clicked on the larger version. Nicely done!

I have just seen the stack of wood too which I thought at first was a wall. Plenty to observe here and very nicely composed

I was intrigue at first by your title ... until I found the helicopter in the upper top right of the photo. This photo has all the good elements of an excellent composition. The flowers in the foreground just makes this photo special. Excellent work! tfs

Beautiful landscape in vertical format, Jonathan, the image is rich of nice details and colors and your POV and the composition very good, compliments, the helicopter is nice but not necessary at my opinion, anyway it was there, why don't insert it also...

A very pleasing composition that makes very good use of the foreground mix of poppies and corn and the stacked logs. Very good balance between the different elements of the composition and the opportune appearance of the helicopter is a definite bonus. Good natural colours and fine clarity.

very nice your composition which has a perfect three levels of depth of field.Your point of view gives such fine lines to your perspective with this wonderful view of the houses.Excellent the light and the colours.The sun that falls above in the houses makes your capture most luminous.The helicopter adds an element of moving in your capture.Well done.

This would be a fine shot even without the helicopter. The pano is also very nice but I prefer the posted image for its compressed composition. Foreground is lovely and provides great contrast with the rest of the picture. I also like the true colors. Regards,

Elle est marrante cette image. On s'attend plutôt à ce qu'elle s'appelle "coquelicots dans le blé" et j'ai mis quelques secondes avant de localiser le sujet. J'aime bien cette composition verticale qui nous livre différentes strates jusqu'à atteindre notre frelon.

Hi Jonathan,
I like the colours of the red flowers in the foreground repeated in the centre of the shot, thus drawing our eye from red patch to red patch and further into the shot creating good depth. The extra detail of the helicopter and the machine is great. A lovely scene.

Tres belle photo, avec une belle composition générale :) le mur au centre, le petit village au dessus et la prairie sauvage en dessous, j'aime beaucoup, c'est tres équilibré.

Et le contraste des couleurs aussi ^^ avec l'opposition du haut et du bas.

Une image tout en couleurs avec un premier plan splendide !
J'aime bien le fait que cet hélicoptère soit présent dans l'image, on a l'impression de voir un gros insecte ! Les différents plan sont très bien réalisés dans cette photographie ! Les fleurs, le mur de bois et le village en arrière plan ! Bravo !

Je cherchais l'hélicoptère parmi les coquelicots, il est dans le coin droit, sans doute en train de faire de l'épandage agricole. Un trés joli payasage agricole et les coquelicots parmi les épis sont superbes. Bonne composition verticale entre les fleurs, le tas de bois et l'église du village (avec le gros coléoptère pour finir).

Salut Jonathan,

whilst helicopters are very dear to my heart as I've worked in them for over 30 years, it's the flowers and the wood stack which drew me to this fine image. The colours are fantastic and there's great texture in the corn stems, the eye is then drawn to the wood stack, then the church and finally the helicopter. It's a superb composition but you still wouldn't get me in that helicopter......it's only got one engine!

The helicopter is certainly the odd item here. The rest of the frame is so typically rural and then there's this chopper! Great shot, though I think I'd prefer it without the chopper. Well done.

This is an attractive scene, and I like how you filled the foreground with the field of poppies. The helicopter is a good addition and adds interest to what would otherwise have been a commonplace, if attractive pastoral scene.
My one criticism is that the buildings appear to be leaning over to the left, especially the church, but that's nothing a slight rotation and crop couldn't fix.

Salut Jonathan, c'est pas mal, un peu chargé mais l'oeil s'y retrouve au final. Un poil trop net surtout au premier plan mais ça passe. Juste ces 2 petites remarques mais pour le reste c'est très efficace, cadré en vertical, ce premier plan me plait beaucoup en fait, a la rigueur je te dirai presque que l'hélico est superflu

I had to open this, Jonathan, as I couldn't work out what it had to do with a helicopter in the thumbnail - but full size and all is revealed! This would have been a good composition even without the helicopter, but as it is there, it adds an additional point of interest. I certainly don't agree with Dean that you shuld have cloned it out. The poppies in the corn field add a really nice splash of foreground colour. Cheers . . . David

j'aime cette image de village tranquille , où l'on fait ses réserves de bois pour l'hiver , où il reste des coquelicots dans un blé pas trop traité . Mais il y a l'hélcoptère , paradoxe bruyant qui symbolise tout le contraire...
