OK, Paris doesn't really have beaches, but I thought this sort of looked like one. It's on the Ile St.-Louis in the Seine, at the bottom of a paved ramp going down to the river. Notre-Dame is in the distance.

Hi Ken,
almost better than the seaside! The classic composition of the "rocks on the beach at sunrise" theme works also in a city ;) And BW is a great option for this photo, reminds me of photos from the 1960´s.
Regards, Johannes

It's not the first time I love your Paris, Ken...
And it's not the first time I don't know WHY I love your Paris, Ken...

But, on the other hand...

It's not the first time I am fully captivated by your 17mm, fully erected - and being able to conceive such wonderful results..

Breathe deeply, good pal

g.

Bonsoir Ken
superbe photo; Le n&b et le premier plan donnent un superbe ambiance à la photo; J'aime bien la profondeur de la prise; Beau travail.

Hi Ken,
a different way to see Paris and I like this! Original and creative.
Your b&w is perfect here.

You are not so far from the reality, Paris does have beaches but only in the summer and not yet in May... It looks even more beautiful this way, in B&W under a cloudy sky - what a splendid and original version, Drama and Dream together, I love it !
Best regards,
Cath.

Hi Ken,
He he you're wrong Paris does have beaches, at least during august the road on the Seine banks (voie sur berge) is closed to traffic and turned into a beach, see here. With the driftwood yours looks even more true with a toch of wilderness in the urban jungle, also this adds depth, well seen.
Have a nice sunday JY

Ken,
this post amuses me a lot. The title already promises what you show in your post. You approached the city of Paris with a typical landscape manner. Placing a wide angle on the camera, turning it to the vertical presentation and looking for a very close and interesting foreground element leading to the background - that is pure landscape photography. I never saw alike in urban photography, but I have to confess that it is quite beautiful and attractive.
Peter

great unusual atmosphere of the Seine banks. Like it

Hi Ken,
this is one of the most original, beautiful and attractive pictures of Paris I've seen so far here on TE. I totally agree with every word that Peter said, your approach has been fantastic and the way you composed the shot along with the choice of the black and white is what really makes the difference here. I just love it!
Thanks for sharing it and have a great day.
Regards,

Igor
