Photographer’s Note
This is the lone boat dock in the island. It is very rocky and shallow so the cruise ship set anchor away from the island and boat tenders were used to get to the island. The boats shown on this picture are owned by tourist who are staying in the island. Devils Island now functions as a Bed and Breakfast. But you have no telephones here and no signals for cell phones and also no TVs. It is popular to the French, specially for families who want to get away from the rigors of civilization. The island now is like a zoo. They have all types of animals that roam freely on the island. I have taken pictures of parrots, peasants, monkees, lizards, chickens, birds and others. It takes 3.5 hours to hike around the perimeter trail of the island.
