Hello David,
Welcome to TE with a fine and original photo. Including so much water and sky would be "against the rules" of compositions, but there are so many fine nuances of blue and white in the water, and interesting details in the sky, that it was a good idea not to crop the photo more tightly. The clouds above the city are quite beautiful. Very good sharpness and light.
