Photographer's Note

It is even difficult to name a country, as only the foreground and the mountains on the right (Grandes Jorasses) are in France, while the centre of the image is Swiss territory, including the famous Matterhorn (little black triangle) and Monte Rosa.

View from Aiguille du Midi, highest point (but one) in Europe accessible by public transportation: 3842 m.
The buildings to the left have been improved since this capture was taken on film with my old Canon A 1 in November 2009.
