Mon petit essai sur les Velo'v de la ville de Lyon, les grands frères des Vélib' parisiens...Avec le retour des beaux jours (enfin on l'espère), il ressortent de leurs tanières.

My shot at Lyon's Velo'v, the system of rental bikes provided by the city, big brothers of Parisians Velib'...With the return of warmer days (well let's hope so), they come out of their dens.

Good use of DOP brings the eye right to the subject which is this distinguishing trait of the bicycles..

Hello Philippe,

I do appreciate those rental bike systems. In a national park I was last week, they even had a free bicycles system. You just picked one and put it back in one of the bicycle places in the park. Very nice system.
I do like your compo with shallow DoF, but I might have gone for more space to the left. It feels a bit centered and cramped in the composition at the moment. But still nice.

Le cadrage est excellent.
La mise au point sur le deuxième vélo est celle qu'il fallait et la profondeur de champ bien gérée donne un beau bokeh.
En plus le rouge met un peu de gaité dans ce lundi bien morne à Nice.

Clever shot Philippe - great use of perspective and shallow depth of field.
These rental bikes are a great idea, but I'm not sure they'd work in the UK - the bikes would end up vandalised or chucked in the canal.
Was that an old manual focus lens you used here? I remember I used to use a Pentax 50mm f/1.7 on my old ME Super - I always felt it was a better lens that the Nikon 50 I use now.
