Photographer’s Note

Une photo représentant un coupé Mercedes, que j'ai pris au parc fermé de Valence lors du Rallye Monte Carlo historique.

Cette calandre et la taille du capot, pris au grand angle, me font penser à un requin.

This picture shows a Mercedes car, and I shot it in the Valence closed park, during Historic Monte Carlo Rally.

This grill, and the size of the car, shot with wide angle, made it looking like a shark, in my opinion.

Cool shot JB!

I love the 'clarify' effect (?), you applied here to bring out the high contrast detail in the reflections off the hood. I think you might have been a bit better off lowring the POV slightly to capture the license plate as well and maybe less of the sky. Very well balanced shot...

Bonjour,
Je suis tout a fait d'accord avec le coté requin marteau de cette voiture!Elle a un tempérament de battante sous ce pov. Et j'aime beaucoup le dynamisme des nuages qui accentuent le carractère sportif de cette photo. En bonus cette voiture est vraiment dans l'esprit du Rallye avec la galerie et les pneus.

Yeah I see a shark here for sure! THe wide angle lens did a nice trick with this image. The huge front of the car and its lights do create a different view. The sky looks great as well and is well enhanced by the clarity of the image. Excellent idean and point of view. Thanks JB.

Une photo tout simplement incroyable !
Cadrer ainsi une Mercedes est déjà un exploit mais faire un paysage avec une Mercedes, c'est presqu'impossible, et tu l'as fait.

Hello JB,
absolutely superb photo, is it a special lens that makes the car that wide? I love your point of view, dramatic clouds reflected on the shiny car, colours and symmetry are fantastic. It makes the shape of the car so unreal and still possible to recognize easily. I am adding this to my favourites. Its very creative.

Hello Jb,

Cars and reparation of old cars is for a lot people a very lovely hobby.
But this old mercedes I think out of 1960 with a very great adaptation through the different lights.
Very nice composition with the cloudy sky in background.

I see what you mean - a shark with a smile. The WA perspective and distortions gives this image a interesting and unique view. The reflections of the clouds in the paint work adds to the humor or the image. Well seen and presented.

J'ai failli louper celle-ci ! La sensation de distortion et de perspective importante garanti un effet superbe et souligne la machoir du squale de la route !
Cette vieille Mercedes semble sortir les crocs et être prête à en découdre sur la route avec ces concurrents !

Bonjour JB,
tu as une raison, ce front de la Mercedes, avec le grand angle et de ton bas point de vue, il a toute l'apparence d'un requin, c'est étonnant!
Les éclats et les reflets dans sa carrosserie sont très intéressants à un niveau graphique, et le ciel avec les nuages est magnifique, très bien polarisé.
Ta composition est bonne, j'aime beaucoup son résultat de lumière et de couleurs.
Une belle présentation.

It's a Spitfire!! A Mercedes car; Are you sure it's a car?! :-)
Wonderful, those oldies. A lot of respect for people who renovate such a car. The bodywork is just so complex. My 30-year old Land Rover was in that respect a bit simpler ;-).
I'm just wondering; Why didn't you give it a bit more space at the bottom?! But I like it as well as you present it here!

L'effet obtenu est saisissant. En plus le pp donne une impression de photo ancienne tout à fait en accord avec le sujet. Ca consomme tant de pneus qu'ils sont obligés d'avoir des roues sur le toit?.

Surelly Mercedes wouldn't mind to have this photo of their 'shark of roads' hanging on one of their museums. With this I want to say that you have here a beautiful photo with a great use of the wide angle and the shining 'capot' to reflect the clouded sky.
As you say on the note the front of the car with all this lights seems like a great shark with his mouth wide open showing his teeth.
The tones you used here are really important too for the success of this photo.

I like this smiling granny Mercedes. Smart chosen POV and framing. HDR and tone mapping (if I’m not wrong) are very well applied round off the visual impact of this beautiful compo.

Je m'arrête sur cette photo, comme j'aurais pu m'arrêter sur mille autres dans ta galerie tant il y a de merveilles, car je trouve qu'elle représente tout à fait ton art : un coup d'oeil imparable, des couleurs toujours bien léchées et proportionnées à l'ambiance voulue, une patte que l'on ressent derrière chaque photo et qui crée un univers bien à toi...

Bref, c'est superbement fait et j'aime vraiment ta vision du "Monde"...

Bravo à toi... et je te mets dans mes favoris de ce pas... ;-)
