Après avoir fait une recherche sur Google voici une documentation sur Sainte Barbe.

Sainte-Barbe n'est pas bretonne ni même française. Elle est hollandaise.

Le culte de la martyre Ste Barbe naît en Orient, vers l'an 200 / 300. Il gagne l'Italie, s'étend en Russie et en Finlande, atteint l'Allemagne et les Pays-Bas. En France, la sainte est connu depuis le 12ème siècle. Les marins, qui entretenaient de grands rapports commerciaux avec les Pays-Bas, ont ramené en terre roscovite le culte de la sainte.

Sainte Barbe is not Breton nor even Frenchwoman. She is Dutch. The worship of martyrdom os Saite Barbe is born in the East, about the year 200/300. It gains Italy, extends in Russia and Finland, reached Germany and the Netherlands. In France, the holy one is known since the 12th century. The sailors, who maintained great commercial relationship with the Netherlands, brought back out of ground roscovite the worship of the holy one.
