Photographer's Note

All the things which exist in this world are ephemeral. All the permanence we believe eternal is also ephemeral. Like these shadows on the solid stone columns, as I stand and watch them as they come, and then the next moment they are no longer there as I am passing though one of the corners of the Palais Royal and its garden originally design by Le Nôtre. In the Galerie de Valois I often witness such phenomena. This is not the first time that I have seen the shadows on the columns. But, today is different. As the sun is going down, the shadows I waited for some time have finally arrived on the columns. Photographing them for me was the only way I could have what I could not have, permanently. (There is an improved version of the same image in WS.)
