At Night in Annecy Photo

Photographer’s Note

Annecy is a small town at then end of a beautiful lake in the French Alps. Many tourists come to visit this city for its beautiful old town with Venezzia like canals. The construction of this old town began in the XI th century and the most famous Annecy landmark was completed in 1132 (it appears at the far end of this view, you'll see it better in a later post).
At night, the tourists are still there for having dinner at one of then numerous restaurants and enjoy a stroll by the canals in fresher air. Passing by the city I joined them and took the opportunity to shoot this wide canal view.

Voilà que la terreur des pixels se transforme en bête de nuit !
Belle prise nocturne, j’aime bien ton cadrage qui met parfaitement en valeur la magie du lieu !
Belle exposition, la moindre trace de lumière ressort !

Une magnifique vue de nuit d’Annecy.
Bonne exposition, le ciel est encore un peu bleu ce qui est plus joli qu’un ciel noir.
Joli jeux de lumière avec tous ces lampadaires.
Pour une photo de 4 secondes c’est pas mal comme les gens sont bien restés net.

La Venise du Rhone ;o)...c'est pas ici qu'il y a le plus de vendeurs de glaces aux metres ;o). Une bien jolie image de nuit avec de belles lumieres et reflections...on voit meme des etoiles dans lce beau ciel...........................euh ah......non, c'est de la poussiere sur mon tft...dsl

Tres belle vue nocturne. The exposure is good and I like the composition which leads the eye to the bridge as a focal point. The reflections also add atmosphere.

Ahhhh Annecy. Ca me rappelle tellement de souvenirs.....c'est là-bas que j'ai demandé ma femme en mariage ! Merci !
Ta photo est très belle....une jolie capture des lumières, de magnifiques teintes, un très bon POV qui nous laisse voir une jolie partie de ce superbe endroit, une très belle reflexion dans l'eau,.....Bien joué !

en effet on dirait Venise ( même si je ne suis allée dans aucune de ces 2 villes ), ça brille, c'est mignon avec tous ces pots de fleurs, çà m'étonne pas que des garçons proposent aux filles de les emmener à Annecy ;)

nice shot Jean! i like everything here, its a pity that there was some bright lights shining at you! good POV and composition and reflections in the water! i also like the ghostly figures on the path on the left! not sure if you do or not though! nice shot!

Very nice Jean. The sharpness of the buildings is very nice. That 4 second exposure woked very well, the whole place is radiant. The ghosts of people are a subtle touch and add nicely to the whole composition.

I like the warm cold opposition between the blue sky & yellow lighting. The reflections in the water are superb. Good use of diminishing linear perspective. C'est vraiment tres bon!

A fine example of a night shot from this town JY. Plenty of good details and a noce control of the light. Street lamps are fine details with special light effect. A nice motif well captured.

La photo est superbe, mais ils ne faut pas comparer les canaux de Venise avec ceux d'Annecy. Où a tu vu les gondoliers ? ;o)
Je pense que tu ouvrir un peu plus le diaphragme et réduire le temps de pose. Cela aurait sans doute diminué un peu la profondeur de champ mais réduit le flou du a un temps d'expo prolongé. Je sais je cherche la petite bête, mais on est là pour cela , non ?

Superbe angle de tir pour présenter cette vue nocturne d'Annecy. Les reflets des lumières dans l'eau sont moins agressifs, le ciel pas encore totalement obscur est très beau et met en valeur les silhouettes des immeubles.

You can never go wrong with a night photo of a beautiful place like this, Jean-Yves. Nice atmospheric presentation that portrays the evening mood in a delightful way, not least due to the included reflections on the canal. I sure wouldn't mind sitting at one of these tables right now and enjoying a summer dinner ;-) Well captured.

Superbe cette photo, j'aime beaucoup les clichers de nuits, je trouve que tu as trouver un bon point de vue ici, j'adore la lumiere sue l'eau.
je voudrais bien connaitre ton avis technique : j'ai lu la remarde de Fayeulle, et bien j'auris dit le contraire c'est a dire de fermer a F11 donc augmenter le temps de poses, la nettete aurait ete peut etre meilleur sur l'arriere plan, mais je suis pas sur que l'eau aurait eu cette apparence, as tu fais un essais evec un autre reglage ? qu'en penses tu ?

Les nuits éclairées d'Annecy, on en a plein les yeux de ces lumières et de ces chaudes couleurs qui innondent la vieille ville et qui se reflètent dans le canal.
On comprend que les touristes apprécient cet endroit,.. on a envie d'en être..

Really a perfect night shot, with excellent quailty.
I like the colours and all the tiny lights. The water and the brigde are the finishing touch in the composition here. It looks like a cosy city.
