Punta Mortella Photo

Photographer’s Note

This is a close up of the Genoese tower on the Mortella Point I presented you yesterday along with its historical background. Now I'm just adding it's 17.5 meters high, with diameter of 19 m (before its part collapsed), and its walls are 4 meters thick.

According to guidebooks and TE members who commented my yesterday's shot, Punta Mortella is a popular tourist destination, however when I was there in the beginning of April, just these two cows were there, and they definitely didn't look like tourists. Perhaps they are there to guard Corsican history and traditions against intruders from our crazy modern world.

Again a beautiful view of Corsica. I like your composition a lot and the colours and sharpness are wonderful. Those animals add life to the pic as well.

Great shot Marek.. You managed to capture very well this fascinating spot and the cows add interest to the composition. Lovely colours and contrast.

very nice view of these tower and a great composition with the sea in background and the two cows. The weather was two nice, one or two clouds could have been welcome.

I think you have to clean your sensor ;)

The ruins of that tower stand out very well against the blue sky and are well placed in the composition too. The cows are a nice addition and I like the view of the sea and the mountains in the background too. Well done!

Funny composition with the mix of tower, mountain, sea and cows. The light is stunning and the details superb.

I won't come back to the spot, you should know that by now, I'll just add my voice to the ones praising here the excellent composition with the well placed tower and the view opened through the walls just to discover the two cows, add nice and well polarized colors and the result is a lovely photo, congrats !

Hi Marek - this is interesting, the tower looks like it was eaten by a giant monster, very pleasant composition with the cows and the sea as a backdrop.

A wonderful blue sky as a backdrop to a beautiful composition. The animals really are the icing on the cake. Excellent work.

I see that Your aim was to get a close-up of the cows and have a tower also in the frame. But this way it's not easy to focus sight. I would probably choose either more distant pov for the tower or resign from it and shoot the cows. The light, clarity and colours are fantastic of course, but the composition could be better. Just my frank thoughts.
