Middle of october. The weather was still warm, people enjoyed the good temperature and stayed out. Everywhere in Paris and here in the business area, La Défense.
On the top of the photo, there are details of sculptures created by Panayotis Vassilakis (Takis) in 1987.

Une photo bien dans ton style et ton univers.
J'ai remarqué que tu aimes bien photographier les personnes seules en ville et créer de bonnes ambiances autour d'elles. Ici, c'est typiquement le cas. Très bien vu.

a calm, sharp photo from delnaja?:) Well, its a bit of a surprise but thats good. Dont wana get pigeonhled in a style. Nice foreground and background. I might be tempted to crop a bit of the pavement in the FG due to a touch of OE there. Other than that, its a good one.

Hi Fred, 2006 points, congrats. Thats this year. I'm still in the latter clasical ages apparantly, ha, ha.
A man sat by the water, reading a paper having a quiet moment. Good pov and like the n&b. The inclusion of the sculptures helps balance the photo.

I like the atmosphere and the composition of this image. You know that I prefer colours, but for this scene the b+w works better. Here it makes sense to me.

Guy sitting on steps near fountain and reading a book... It should be a serene and calm scene. But it's not. There's something uneasy and frightening in this image. Don't know why, maybe those drill scuptures...

A great shot, Fred, salut! You know, it reminds me a bit of Godard, it feels so cinematic, so moody, back from the 60s.
I like this composition, the intentional tilt without which it would be much less of a dynamic composition.

Je ne pense même pas qu'il faudrait rogner un peu du bas; la composition me semble équilibrée, traditionelle peut-être mais sans défaut: si tu décides de supprimer une partie des marches, il risque de se retrouver le c*l "parterre"... Je pense, par contre, qu'il y aurait eu matière à améliorer sensiblement l'exposition et surtout le contraste entre le le monsieur (dont les noirs sont complètement bouchés)et son sac (et les marches) à la limite de la surexposition. Un peu d'alchimie, et des détails, d'un côté et de l'autre, auraient été à portée de main. Malgré le grand succès de tes images floutées, je salue içi (comme d'autres l'ont fait), le fait que tout soit net. Ce n'est pas la netteteté qui m'intéresse, bien évidemment, mais la capacité de tout un chacun à se renouveler. Bravo.

some nostalgy, definitely loads of tranquility,
composition-wise it is was a great idea to have the man so strongly anchored in the corner, with a stable and even position of the bank, while in the top are thhe poles sticking out of the water and they stick diagonally;

Belle image, Fred. Oui, classique, comme le dit Gal, mais avec un je ne sais quoi d'autre, de moderne, de..."deljana". L'equilibre joue pour beaucoup la-dedans: l'homme seuil face aux ombres et reflets tentaculaires de la vie...
