Photographer’s Note
Puymartin Chateau is not easy to photograph from outside and after you've paid admission you are informed there is no photography allowed inside. It featured in the hundred years war when six drunken British soldiers took it with no resistance. They made such a nuisance of themselves that the locals paid them to go away. Funny sort of war. The image, uncorrected for distortion is in WS.

Bonsoir Vic,

HI Vic,
Really beautiful tone .. great detail in the shadows .. I still feel some strange distortion relationships or eye tricks .. the relationship of the near tower to the back wall and the roof to top of the stone of the far one .. very fairy tale.
take care,
John

Hi Vic,
very good POV and angle. Well manged light.
Beautiful castle despite the ugly restauration with the big blocks and the square tower.

This is a lovely biulding and the photo is very sharp and clear. I would like to have seen just a bit more sunlight on the walls and maybe just a little more green foreground but all the same its a very pretty scene

Hi Vic - the low light is appealing, I like how the detial is preserved in the shadows, which cover most of the chateau, and definiteley the distorion correction is something I also would have done, I wonder how it would have looked 12 hours earlier with the sun coming from the opposite angle.

I think that I could spend several months in France and it wouldn't be enough to see even little part of this beautyful country. I don't know how this castle looks in different view but I like your way of photographing this place. I like light on this photo cos it gives an extra dimension here. Quality is perfect, the tones of the sky are gentle and soft.
It's just looks REAL :-)
Regards,
Pawel
