Night at Place du Tertre Photo

Photographer’s Note

It was freezing night, but the sky was clear and moon was full. Many people still at the Place du Tertre, although the artists had started to pick up their works and ready to leave the place.

Place du Tertre, the artists square at Montmartre hill, just next to Basilic of Sacre coeur.
The beautiful light fell on the buildings and the full moon wish to be seen as well.

Une très belle ambiance nocturne dans autour du Sacré-Coeur !
Dommage que la peinture du premier plan soit à l'envers , cela donne l'impression que l'image est bouchée ! Sinon, l'expo est très bien gérée !

This is a beautiful picture with a lot of adventure in it. The winter Coates, the colourful illumination, the easel with the painting, the full moon, the lighted towers of the Sacre Coeur. All interesting element for this composition.

Hello Cessy,

A very nicely composed and flawlessly exposed night image in the Montmartre district. I would have liked seeing the front of a canvas, instead of the back of it, but sometimes we must take what is made available.

Hi Cessy, I was around in Paris at the same time! Good shot at the 'nightly'life on Place du Tertre with fine light management and convenient verical framing. Crisp and sharp details.

Great night view of the lovely square of Place du Tertre. You captured the atmosphere very well and with the Sacre Coeur you had a wonderful background. The moon is a nice detail too. Well done and thanks for sharing!

"It was freezing night". I know that feeling well! It snowed here on New Year's Eve & more is forecast on Friday. I like the symmetry between the 2 spires here, & the suspended artists palette. Well managed low light levels, & excellent sharpness. Tfs!

nice composition of this daily snapshot in the Place du Tertre.Indeed the cold is enough because of i see all the visitors to wear heavy clothes.The moon between the dome and the tower clock decorate perfect the whole scenery.Informative your note too.

Maybe the white balance is not the right, but the composition and the exposure are very nice.
