A partial view of the courtyard of the château at Rochechouart with its twisted stone pillars.

The château was originally built in the 11th and 13th centuries. The château was a centre of resistance against the English during the 100 years war. Of the original building, there now only remains a tower flanking the massive entrance gate. The existing building was built at the end of the 15th century in Renaissance style.

It was the seat of the Lords of Rochechouart for some 800 years up to the time of the Revolution. Nowadays, it houses the sub-prefecture and, since 1985, a museum of contemporary art,

C'est une excellente image très descriptive. Les murs et leurs pierres non régulières sont du meilleur effet. J'aime le point de vue et le soin apporté au cadrage. La bonne qualité de l'image permet d'apprécier au mieux la construction. Une très bon travaail.

Nice repetition of the windows & arches with good sharpness & fg shadow detail. Attractive patel colours with the tricolour at right a good addition. Tfs!

Very sharp and very good. The three colours of the flag, together with the flowers, are fine eye-catchers. The composition is well balanced and the POV is excellent. As I said yesterday, this place would be worth seeing!

Hello Stephen,
wonderful presentation of these walls of natural bricks. And the light is well balanced to have a good view into the arcades, fine texture on the place and the sky is pleasant as upper addition. The stitch is a bit visible this time as the roof is not straight in the middle and the columns of the arcade in the ground (left of the door) have a strange appearance.

Wonderful wide view of this beautiful 12th century courtyard that is seen in all its original sharp detailed stone work.
Love the little garden in the center of the courtyard and the lovely sky in the background.

Très belle composition dans laquelle l'artistique rivalise avec la technique pour mettre en valeur la splendide architecture du bâtiment et de ses détails.
Peut-être aurais-tu du rogner le bas de l'image afin d'avoir moins de vide.
