Hi Ken,
Excellent visual representation of your caption. Yes, the 'human element' is hesitating.
Love this graphic composition with remarkable B&W treatment, particularly the midtones.
Regards,
Maria
a good composition in b&w. The curve on the right. A graphic composition indeed.
Hope you enjoy your trip in Paris : )

Hello Ken! This is a funny post how the Statue of Liberty comes up behind the bridge ... well I thought this was not New York but I checked before I read your note so I cannot take part in your little contest :) When most people take photos of Metro signs or other famous stuff, you found something totally different. I like how the man stands there with his mobile phone trying to make an important phone call, or maybe he just says that he will be arriving in five minutes :) Have a wonderful weekend, celebrating 4th of July maybe ... Barbara.

Las Vegas??? LOL... there is even one in tokyo as far as i remember... the world is full of people who dont have a clue about liberty, mostly women, and our "miss liberty" is on a world tour!... who cares...
lovely compo with the replica of the "thinker" by rodin, on the corner LOL...
all the best ken...

Ok, this may sound weird but I would have loved this photo even more if either the man wasn't in it, or the statue. Imagine how nice the minimalism would have been with just the man staring down off the bridge and all that open sky and the nice B&W. Or imagine just the statue being outreached by the road sign. Both the man and the statue make for great points of interest but I would prefer to have just one point of interest rather than two. That said, I still love this photo and respect your ability to capture this unique angle. I know that you couldn't choose to have one of the elements removed from the frame either. Great shot. Happy 4th!

An interesting collection of Paris shots you have, Ken. Definitely with a personal touch, which I find refreshing. This one stands out for me, as I am a sucker for minimalist shots. Great composition and moment captured.
cheers,
CT
