[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
Morbihan in the Breton language means "little sea"

In the background of this picture is the Ile de Tascon. A causeway connects it with the mainland, so it can be reached at low tide.

There are now not many of these old wooden boats to be seen, as the modern trend is for low maintenance glassfibre which is not very photogenic.

"Morbihan is part of the current region of Bretagne and is surrounded by the departments of Finistère, Côte-d'Armor, Ille-et-Vilaine, and Loire-Atlantique, and the Atlantic Ocean on the southwest.

The Gulf of Morbihan has many islands: 365 according to legend, but, in reality, between 30 and 40, according to how they are counted. There are also many islets which are too small to be built on".

Jolie photo, mais n'aurait-elle pas gagné en punch si le sujet avait été un peu plus décentré ?
Bonne soirée
Chris

Hi Peter,
Lovely composition. The little boat, a bit 'centred' to my liking. Good management of the light conditions and gorgeous palette of hues, specially the blues, that reminds me of the paintings by this great Spanish impressionist painter Joaquin Sorolla.
Regards,
Maria

The boat as foreground is a necessary prop in this landscape and you placed it well along a diagonal. I like how the light say nice and sunny while the waves say cold and windy, that gives a nice tension.

Hi Peter,
The blue boat, the blue sea and the blue sky are all in a fine harmony with the brown 'beach'. The boat is well placed diagonally and the chain comtinues down to the corner. All in all, a very fine composition, obviously seen with the eyes of a painter!
Greetings from Gothenburg
Gunnar

Hello, Peter.

Another fine picture from your French trip.

Nice colours and excellent detail. I like the horizon and the far island(s) making a strong line across the top and the boat and its bow chain making a strong diagonal in the frame.

Interesting note too!

Best Wishes,

John.

Hello Peter ,
A typical boat of our Golfe . The high POV is interesting , and the position of the boat very good . Nice colors , too .
The weather was not so good during your vacations , and it seems to be a sunny and windy picture .
Beast Regards
Denis

Hello Peter,
Nice fresh blue and brown colour scheme. I also like the mooring rope disappearing into the corner to establish a diagonal 'pull' to the composition - and the dark colour of the dried weed at the tideline adds weight to lower edge of the picture.
Very pleasing!
Best wishes...Maggie

hello Peter,
perfectly composed as ever, with the tow rope leading a diagonal from the corner of your frame to the boat's stern. Love the blues here, of boat, sea and sky. You have captured a nice light too.
regards,
Bev

Hello Peter,

I feel like saying SNAP!
I have just returned from an enjoyable holiday in Brittany, mostly in the Cote d'Amour.
A very interesting subject which matches the b/g colours perfectly. There is good f/g interest, a well-placed subject and good composition.
I would have preferred a greater dof but that is a personal preference and does not affect the quality of the photograph.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)
