Photographer’s Note

This image has been taken in Chartres, a city that gets public building illumination during all the summer on all its major sites, here you can see how they project writings from ancient books on the structure of a bridge leading to the inner city core. For those who like night lights, a trip to Chartres during tihe summer to see this is a must !

plutôt original , avec cette projection sur le pont, qui se reflète pour former un disque presque parfait.

Bonjour jean-Yves,

Un ciel plus à même de justifier ta réputation que celui d'hier avec ton bateau.... c'est assez kitsch, mais j'aime bien. les réflexions dans l'eau font toujours leurs petit effet! C'est aussi très bien d'avoir mis le parapet ou tu trouvais dans la photo. cela rajoute une ligne de force, sans comme cela est assez sombre, nous faire oublier ce qui est important!

Tiens, tu aimes les lumières nocturnes toi... ca c'est une nouvelle ;-)
Ca va être encore mieux avec ton 5D mkII, que je suppose que tu as déjà commandé :o))
Sympa cette composition avec les arches du pont qui font des ronds dans l'eau, comme dirait Françoise.

L'an dernier, j'avais posté un des autres ponts de la série, mais évidemment pas à l'heure bleue ;o))
Du beau boulot et les façades claires le mettent encore plus en avant.

Je nous tiens les pouces. Il semble que le site tourne rond à nouveau.
Il tourne rond comme tes disques de lumières affichés sur les piles de ce pont.
L'idée est très bonne et en plus tu as capté tout ceci sous un joli ciel bleu fonçé. Parfait.

This is an excellent blue hour shot. The blending of of natural and artificial lighting is excellent here. The projected words on the bridge stand out nicely and are reflected perfectly in the water below. Your composition is great using the canal to lead the eye into the shot.

I'd like to see something like this here in Tampere.
Colourful presentation of this old town which doesn't seem as decorative by architecture than many others you've shown. The way text surrounds those bridge arches is well planned.

I've been to Chartres but not at night, so I never saw the lights. Great shot, showing these unusual projections on the bridge, which creates a very strange and mesmerizing circular effect. Nice work!

j'aime le côté documentaire, nous montrer cette manifestation lumineuse, documentaire car c'est intéressant pour le pont, le reste l'est moins.. ah si, la maîtrise de l'heure bleue est toujours exemplaire

JY,
it obviously has to be the blue hour and it obviously has to be in your gallery. Who else besides you would get there with the tripod while everyone else is sitting in a Cafe and having some beer at this time of the day. But hey, that little trick is exactly what makes this shot in this case. The writing on the brigde gets an extraordinary luminosity. Very good!

Fameuse cette netteté sur le pont.
Lors de mon dernier passage il y a 2 ans mon ancien 300 D ne donnait pas une bonne résolution car la plupart des projections étaient mobiles.
Pour 200 ISO c'est parfait et j'apprécie la qualité de l'exposition.

Voilà une idée original et très jolie: peintre un vieux pont avec des mots écrites avec lumière. Et, bien, après il vient un autre peintre de lumière et transforme ça en une photo merveilleusement bleue.

Remarkable bridge-- totally worth the photo;
the blue- hour time complements it very well.
The reflections on the water are amazing...
It seemed like you used a projector to reflect
that art on the bridge--of course you did not,
but it has a really great effect.
Needless to say anything about the technical
aspect; great sharpness and definition.
