A house built on an island in the river Sèvre Niortaise just outside the village of Maillé. When I was there in mid-September 2008, it was up for sale, so if you are interested......

Maillé is a village and river port in the département of Vendée in Western France with a population of around 700. The village, whose name comes from the Latin Malleacum (bad water), is located on the southern tip of the island of Maillezais, at the confluence of Sèvre Niortaise and Autises rivers in the heart of the Poitevin marshes.
