This is a view of the middle section of Charlottenburg Palace in the north-west of Berlin - seen from the wonderful park there.

The construction of the castle was begun in 1695 as a small summer castle but already in 1701 when Friedrich I was crowned king in Prussia he and his wife Sophie Charlotte started to enlarge it to a grand palace. After the death of the queen in 1705 it was called Charlottenburg and from 1709 to 1712 it was enlargened once more and today the castle is more than 500 meters long.
In the World War II the palace was severely damaged. After 1945 it was rebuilt and functions now as a museum.

The park was designed as a French baroque garden with wonderful symmetric beds. It passes into a near to nature English landscape garden with great trees, especially oaks, and ponds. Today it is a very popular recreation area for the surrounding quarters of Berlin.

In the workshop you can see other pictures of this castle.

Using the map view function at the left, you can see the marker showing my point of view. You can zoom in (please click several times at +) to the wonderful castle with its park.

Splendid view, fine wide presentation. Interesting note, as well.
Regards, my dear friend, from very hot Silesia.

Hi Frank,

Thanks for your nice comment to my shot.

P.S.: in these days the sky is fantastic, more blue than the sea.

Hallo Frank,

Grüße aus dem schwülheißen Südtirol

Hi Frank,
I like this composition where you sort of hide the beautiful castle behind the trees and just leaves us to assume the grandness of it. A very interesting note to strengthen this contribution!
Greetings from Gothenburg
Gunnar

Hallo Frank!
Ein schöner Blick durch die Bäume auf das Schloss.Ein bisschen näher herangegangen und die Spiegelung wäre vielleicht komplett.Aber auch so ist es schön,mit dem satten Grün im Vordergrund.
Gruß,Andreas

Oh yeah, this palace in Berlin. I heard about it, but never visited it. What about some photos of San-Susi, eh? Very good photo and great note, as usual!
Greetings from warm and sunny Russia!

Hello Frank,

Almost like s sneak-peak to the Castle Charlottenburg!
The fine old architecture is nicely framed by the lush vegetation, in a composition with a great feeling of depth...
A well balanced presentation with fine details in the greenery!

Greetings,
Pablo -

That's interesting despite the white sky (it 'd need to be dealt and corrected somewhat through Postprc applications i think )...The vegetation as a frame works nicely but i would have cropped those tree trunks (or maybe only the one which appears on the right further corner creating an overly dark effect ...)

That's my opinion ...

Have a nice day

Miguel

Nice frmaing idea, though maybe just too much foliage on the right that kind takes over from its effect as a frame.
