[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
Both Angela Merkel (Germany's Prime Minister) and Michael Ballack (the star of the German national football team that has reached the final of the Euro tournament) grew up in a country that has now been forgotten: the once famous "DDR" (Deutsche Demokratische Republik), that is East Germany.

It is still possible to find some traces of the past. For instance, in the east part of Berlin there are still quite a few statues of Marx and Engels, and examples of socialist artwork. Sometimes in a decaying condition (like the colors of the post in this photo), sometimes they look like there are well maintained.

Do you think you can recognize the guy on the left? (Hint - look at the way the guy seems to be "keeping an eye" on the DDR post). The answer - in the Workshop.

Hello Daniël,

A forget country, but maybe happy for the inhabitants, the DDR was not at once the best regime in the world.
Maybe not bad that your this image show to the world, I hope that in the world peace and forbearance can come.
Very well done, TFS.

this is the former hymn from DDR.
Breznev is also to see with his kiss to Ulbricht on the last ruins of the wall.
as regards the reported experiences of my friends from DDR...well..they are quite right if they do not like to talk much about them

ciao
Silvio

PS: fortunately they keep other dramatic memories still alive. I think you know what I mean.

The impact is solid and you have played with the contrasts so well making them so well defined and lovely. I like the composition. I like the tones, colours and lovely textures in this one
