Exactly the same place in Berlin, just twenty years later (1987 and 2007).

The same stones on the sidewalk.

The thin long lines of stones on the street (passing below the cars farther up the street) indicate the exact position of the wall, as seen on top.

Lampposts. Lampposts over the wall (one clearly seen), lampposts of non-peace. Below, lampposts to illuminate the street, dull lampposts of peace...

The same buildings, three clearly seen: the one farther away was the Ministry of Aviation in Hitler's days, then housed several governmental offices during the Cold War, and these days is the Ministry of Finance. As you can see, the top of the house in the middle has been modified. And the lower building, closer to us, was barely seen when the wall was there.

Hi Daniel,
We are both in Berlin today...
Excellent combination of the same place on different eras. And positive message of the place where things have turned better. Soft edge between them is a good idea. Is this the street that goes by the Checkpoint Charlie?

Interesting collage and an original idea daniel. Let's hope in the name of TOS that this is not violating in the same way as a flower, a carnation was removed earlier this day under the same theme.
For me a creative and well considered work - fine for this theme.

A very intersting cvollage, a good contribution.

An absolutely perfect contribution for the topic Peace in the World. What better than a symbol of the division and of the repression like the former wall of Berlin?
And your composition with both photos of the same place but separated by 20 years it has an excellent graphical and sentimental result.

Hi Daniel,
as I have studied in Berlin during the time with the wall and living close to it, it was part of my daily life, like you put it also here. With the buildings in the background an addition as reminder to the Second World War. Good presentation.

The idea of combining these two images - just about as great as it can be !

You see, bro... I see no connection between the world peace and the makakas on TE...

After all - how many photos of this importance are passing in front of our eyes on daily basis ???
