Photographer's Note

Warnemünde began life as a fishing village, but then developed into a tourist centre thanks largely to cruise ships. Today the small town sports a cobblestone shopping area by the pier that has a surprisingly bohemian feel, but with a definite German edge.

One such local touch was the musician on the pier playing the accordian. The plate at his feet would indicate that he's playing for change, but his distant smile told me he was playing for his own enjoyment. Perhaps that's the way it should be.

Unsharp mask and crop. Desaturated all but the accordian and plate. Slightly boosted the red saturation on the accordian alone.
