Photographer's Note

Hello friends and colleagues, today I present the beautiful village of Meersburg, is on the shores of Lake Costanza, in the photo a cross of streets with beautiful architecture, I hope you like, then some letters about the city.

Meersburg is a town in Germany, located on the shores of Lake Constance in the state of Baden-Württemberg. It is a city of considerable tourist weight, being one of the most visited points of this great lake.

It has a marked medieval character, like many of the cities of that area, and is a beautiful and tourist city privilegedly elevated on the lake. This makes your view of all this, with the Swiss bank in front, the Alps behind it, and the city of Konstanz (German) on the nearest side, alone worth a visit.

Any visitor will soon discover that another of the economic protagonists of the city is the production of wine, as their vines fill the hillsides in an orderly and respectful manner and their wine cellars, taverns and wine stores remind us constantly by German words related to Wein (wine), Keller (winery), Winzer (winegrower), etc.

From the city you can take a ferry that crosses the lake towards Switzerland or towards the city of Constance (this works constantly, as a bridge between the two cities), or can be accessed by train or road towards Bavaria or, a little further , To Bregenz, already in Austria. This is the third country to share land in this large lake fed by the Rhine, which provides direct waters from the Alps. Another ferry links the municipality directly with the island of Mainau.

The population is named for the first time in the year 988 under the name of Merdesburch. Between the years of 1210 and 1803 belonged to the Bishopric of Constanza.
Towards the year 1300 the village received the privilege to celebrate a weekly market, passing to be used and developed for it the lower zone of the city, until then occupied practically only by fishermen.
