Autumn just started, but let's have a preview on winter...
The Feldberg, the highest top in the Black forest (about 1500 meters above sea level) offers good wintersport facilities and is easy to reach via train and bus from Freiburg (roughly 1 hour). Of course you can drive by car, but the time is nearly the same from Freiburg, but parking space...
A good solution could be lodging in some small towns close by eg Titisee or Hinterzarten.

HI Knut, such a photo sets the mood for the upcoming winter season, very nice composition, the remaining snow on the trees is superb, the snow capture good, the framing opens the view to the Feldberg, I like it !

Oh my God, what is this white thing around??
I really missed this kind of scenery Knut. This winter I'll make a special trip to take such photos.
The tree on the right and the top of the other on the left are increasing the depth of the scene. Two layers of the mountains are wonderful. Division of the area by the roads are amazing.

I like very much this soft kind of mountain landscape during wintertime ; I reminds me three of my pictures posted some time ago on TE (but from Vosges)
A great cold shot with a real colors and contrast,well captured and composition is fine,Knut.

I find those one superb a very lovely winter picture, Knut, the curving of the roads together with at two farms the snow give a serenity, this a postcard atmosphere. Thanks for sharing too.
