The path leading down from Jochberg summit (1565m). Here in the city there is no trace of snow, but as we used the great weather yesterday for a trip into the mountains - surprise! Jochberg is an easy hike (3-4h), for any season. The lower land and the lake below (Walchensee) were covered with a layer of fog, but above the view seems to be unlimited. The mountain in the center is Simetsberg, and behind that Germany's highest peak, Zugspitze.

This is wonderful Oliver. In the gallery you will note three images together, yours of the mountain snow, mine of a Calfornia beach and John's of autumn leaves in a forest. How delightful to have so many faces of this gorgeous planet shown together.

I want to walk that trail through the snow, and enjoy this excellent vista. The colors and details are finely rendered and I like the way you compose the image with the trail leading from one side into the distance, leading our eyes toward the distance mountains and the lake below. A fine capture and an excellent presentation. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful view towards the south. The composition is nice and the glazed trees on the right are fantastic. I love these trees covered in snow, they always make a great subject for a photograph.

Beautiful view. Great exposure, no signs of overexposure which easily happens when you've got strong sunlight and snow.
You have beautiful shadows and contrasts.
Excellent composition of this beautiful above the clouds-view.
I like the way the path leads the viewers eye into the picture.
Very well done.

Very good photo Oliver!
Excellent depth of field. I like the path in the snow coming from the lower left corner to the centre of the image, and the snow covered trees on the right also add good foreground subject. Nice sky, and the blue mountains in the background also pleasant!
Well done!

Great shot Oliver ! composition, colors, light sharpness , everuthing is well done.

Hi Oliver,

a wonderful picture. That makes me looking forward to winter. Maybe then I will have more time to hike and take pictures like yours. The snow covered trees on the right, the clear view and the blue tone add much "coldness" to the photo.

This is a good photo, snow is veery difficult to take and you succed in offering this beautifull landscape.
Great care in your composition, deep and with a lot of precisions.
Line of creast is you perspective, good choice;

wow, perfect landscape.. maybe almost perfect, because when I see those footprints I would like to see a wanderer there. But except for this everything is very good - clarity, composition (with path doing a good job leading the eye inside the picture), good framing with those trees, perfect layers

Very nice. I can smell the crsipy snow! I like the texture of the snow on the trees to the right, the layers of mountain in the backfground and the path of footprints leading through the landscape. Well done. Very eye catching thumbnail.

Hi Oliver, it's a superb and appealing winter photo, well composed too, the path leads us to its center and the snow loaded tree diagonal on the right is superb.

Nice colors, perspective and contrast.

Beautiful Oliver, i envy you a lot for this excursion in the snow!!
Super panorama, tons of details (i like particulary the trees full of snow on the right). And the white of the snow is not overexposed!
Compliments
Giorgio

Beautifull landscape Oli, excellent composition with fog left in the valley and snow covered trees on the right. The path in the snow give a good perspective here.

Bin neidisch, Oliver!!

great winter shot, well exposed. you seem to be at the top.. congradulation!

great winter photo. i love the sun on the right-side trees, and the path in the snow. very natural. the sky and far-end mountains could have had more contrast, maybe with a polarizing filter. great composition.

Hie Oliver. Being busy yourself too I see. This scene you have here is imaginative and thoughtful, in getting the snow trodden path leading into the valley, but spicing it up with the view of the mountain, to give viewer an idea of the snow trek. It is also a bright scene and with negligible loss in definition. And those clouds hugging the mountain sides. A heighthened impression Oliver.

Another beautiful shot. Here the POV on the valley, low clouds and chain of mountains in background is great to highlight the space feeling to the composition. The foreground is beautiful too with these firs covered of snow. One more time the exposure is perfect and colors are natural. You are lucky, Oliver! Here, the snow is not yet fallen...But patience! The weather report announce snow into the valleys in Burgundy for next days. You make me think I must buy a polarizer filter quickly :-)

The snow gives things a very attractive and beautiful look, Oliver; this is an amazing view, a real white surprise, like you said. Good work!

Hi Oliver.

Really a refreshing photo now, in summertime (of course, you posted in november).
The exposure is very good and I love also the composition and all the little details of the photo.

Well done.
